Blueprints is a change agency that shapes futures by equipping and educating people to improve their lives. Independence is gained when we break barriers and build futures.

​

 

Blueprints has been serving Washington & Greene Counties since 1965. Founded by a group of community leaders, the initial focus of the agency was to mobilize public and private resources to deal with the causes of poverty, not just its impact.

 

Today, Blueprints’ mission remains much the same. The agency is still committed to solving poverty, but aims to help participants achieve stability. By focusing on the mind, home, health and wallet, participants are encouraged to meet their future needs independently.

 

Blueprints operates more than 50 programs serving more than 20,000 people annually and partners with the Washington County Housing Authority through several initiatives including:

 

Head Start

This program provides comprehensive child development programs that serve children from ages 3 to 5 and their families in Washington and Greene Counties, in both center and home-based options. This highly rated program is child-focused with the overall goal of increasing school readiness of young children, while also offering their families a myriad of other services.  There are Head Start classrooms in/adjacent to the following Washington County Housing Authority communities:

Highland Terrace, Donora, PA

Jollick Manor, Washington, PA
Lincoln Terrace, Washington, PA

Maple Terrace, Washington, PA
Valley View Terrace, Canonsburg, PA

 

Resident Opportunities & Self-Sufficiency (ROSS)

Through this program, a Blueprints’ Service Coordinator is on-site one day each week in several Washington County Housing Authority communities to provide goal planning and coordinate the delivery of supportive services so that residents can break barriers and build futures.

 

The Service Coordinator focuses on entire families to ensure services including early childhood education, nutrition, career development, money management and homeownership are available to help families achieve their goals.

• Valley View Terrace
