The Washington County Housing Authority (WCHA) is a public agency dedicated to providing decent, safe, and affordable housing solutions to low- and moderate-income families, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities. Operating under federal guidelines from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the WCHA serves more than 1,600 households. The agency manages approximately 843 public housing units alongside more than 1,000 Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) to expand accessible housing options across the private rental market. Beyond physical housing, WCHA partners with community organizations like Blueprints to deliver supportive services, childcare readiness, and self-sufficiency programming to help residents thrive.
